An image of a cover of People magazine featuring Taylor Lautner proclaiming that the “Twilight” actor is “Out and Proud” has made its way around the web Monday, Dec. 26. The said cover which was dated January 7, 2012 was revealed as a fake issue.

The cover also revealed a quote supposedly from Lautner saying: “I’m more liberated, and happier than I’ve ever been.”

A representative from the mag confirms to Gossip Cop that the cover is “absolutely fake.” One tipoff via zap2it: The sidebar boxes featuring Brad Pitt and Carnie Wilson were lifted from a five-year-old issue.

Rumors that Lautner is gay have been a huge issue since “Twilight” which gave him the fame and spotlight three years ago, but Lautner has always denied the accusation.
