Miss Angola Leila Lopes crowned Miss Universe 2011. Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup was 3rd runner up.


Miss Angola Leila Lopes was crowned Miss Universe 2011 in the recently concluded beauty pageant held at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on Monday, September 12, chosen among 89 gorgeous contestants around the globe.

The rest of the winners are Miss China 4th Runner Up; Miss Philippines 3rd Runner Up; Miss Brazil 2nd Runner Up; Miss Ukraine 1st Runner Up.
Miss Congeniality went to Miss Montenegro Nikolina Loncar and Miss Photogenic is Miss Sweden Ronnia Fornstedt, announced earlier. Best in National Costume Award received by Miss Panama.

Miss Universe 2011 Preliminary show awarded Congeniality and Photogenic awards to Miss Montenegro and Miss Swenden respectively.

Ronnia Fornstedt, Miss Sweden won the Miss Photogenic while Miss Montenegro Nikolina Loncar received the Miss Congeniality award at the Miss Universe 2011 Preliminary Competition, a pre-pageant event took place last Thursday, September 8.

Miss Universe 2011, which will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, will be held at the Credicard Hall, in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. The reigning Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete of Mexico who co-hosted the preliminaries will crown her successor.

Tony Award winner Lea Salonga named as one of the 2011 Miss Universe judges.

NBC, Donald Trump and Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization revealed today the list of names who will serve as judges of the 60th Annual Miss Universe Pageant which will be seen live from Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on Monday, September 12 at 9PM ET.

One of them is Tony award winner and Filipina actress Lea Salonga. Other judges includes: Helios Castroneves, three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500; Connie Chung, U.S. broadcast legend; Isabeli Fontana, Brazilian supermodel; Vivica Fox, actress & television producer; Adrienne Maloof, from Bravo’s hit series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”; Amelia Vega, Miss Universe 2003.

Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Bebel Gilberto is set to perform during the evening gown parade while Brazilian native pop singer Claudia Leitte will sing her latest single ‘Locomotion’ during swimsuit competition.

Andy Cohen, host of Bravo’s “Watch What Happens: Live and Natalie Morales, news anchor of NBC’s ‘Today’ will host the 2011 Miss Universe Pageant.

A new twist to the 60th edition of the prestigious pageant where in a semi-final slot will be given outright to the contestant with the highest average vote online. See all 88 candidates

Vote Shamcey Supsup to be in the semifinals. If she tops the online vote, she’ll be automatically included in the Miss Universe 2011 Top 15.
