Did you miss your chance to audition for ‘American Idol‘ this summer? America’s favorite singing contest isn’t just shaking up its judges but making some tweaks on the audition process as well.
One is you can now audition yourself online – this is a first for Idol. Auditions open Monday, August 6 and run through Monday, August 20. Just visit auditions.americanidol.com and follow the instructions to submit your video ‘a capella‘ entry.
The show will also have its first-ever ‘Idol Bus Tour,’ which will visit 10 small towns across the country, where fans who missed out on the usual big-city auditions can still have a chance to become the American Idol 2012. Another way is nominating a friend with our “Nominate An Idol” – Read below [via AmericanIdol.com]
Do you know someone who you think should be the next American Idol? Now, for the first time ever you can nominate a friend as part of American Idol’s new “Nominate An Idol” program.
Individuals can secretly nominate their friends or family by filling out an online form and submitting an existing video or URL of their “nominee” singing solo and a capella. If your friend has what it takes they will be surprised on location by a film crew and given the chance to advance to the next round of auditions.
Submissions and nominations must meet all eligibility requirements and be a surprise. If you are going to nominate someone, you must read and agree to the terms and conditions.
Go to auditions.americanidol.com to nominate your friend or family member. If you think you have what it takes to be the next American Idol you can audition online or take part in the Small Town Bus Tour!
